Change back to "Windows" if you have issues with dummy Storage Card folders
created at bootup.

list of items to be cleaned in the main screen.

1.3.1
Examples of wildcard options supported for Custom Files:
- *.* : all files in the folder (subfolders are ignored)
- *.txt : all txt files
- abc.* : all files with specific filename
- MobileShell_log*.txt : files such as "MobileShell_log00.txt", "MobileShell_log01.txt",
etc.
2.1 Application Modes:
- Normal Mode: In this mode, you have access to all functions of ClearTemp.
- Startup Mode: This mode is used when "Auto clean on Start Up" is enabled.
Items 1 to 22 are cleaned in this mode, depending on what items were ticked
the last time the Normal Mode was used.
- Express Mode: In this mode, the application UI will not be launched.
Instead, it will start cleaning items immediately on launch. Items that are
cleaned also depend on what were ticked the last time the Normal Mode was
used.
3.1
List of items:
- Temp: This is the "\Temp\" folder. Sometimes,
a "wince.nls" file is found here. This file will be skipped.
- Cache: This is the "Temporary Internet Files"
folder used by Internet Explorer and some applications which use the internet
connection.
- Cookies: This is the "Cookies" folder used by
Internet Explorer.
- History: This is the "History" folder used by
Internet Explorer.
- Volatile Folder: This is the "\Application Data\Volatile\"
folder. From my observations, this folder is used to store some temp files during
software installation process.
- Opera Mobile Cache: This is the cache folder
for Opera Mobile.
- Minimo Cache: This is the cache folder for Minimo.
- NetFront Cache: This is the cache folder for
NetFront v3.2 to v3.5.
- Custom Folder 1: This is the user-defined folder.
Tick this item only when you have defined "Custom Folder 1" in the main settings
screen.
- Custom Folder 2: This is the user-defined folder.
Tick this item only when you have defined "Custom Folder 2" in the main settings
screen.
- Custom Folder 3: This is the user-defined folder.
Tick this item only when you have defined "Custom Folder 3" in the main settings
screen.
- Large Mail: This is the folder where large e-mails
are stored. Detection of this folder does not work in Windows Mobile 5.0 and above.
- Mail Attachments: This is the folder where large
e-mails are stored.
- HTC Logs: This is the folder used by some HTC
devices to store log files, e.g. TouchFLO 3D crash reports, etc.
- Virtual Earth Mobile: This is the cache folder
used by Virtual Earth Mobile.
- Live Search Mobile: This is the cache folder
used by Live Search Mobile.
- Spb Traveler: This is the cache folder used by
Spb Traveler.
- Resco Recycle Bin: This is the Recycle bin folder
used by Resco Explorer. Tick this item only if you are using the Recycle bin feature
in Resco Explorer.
- Google Maps: This is the cache folder used by
Google Maps Mobile.
- Opera Mobile History: This is a list of files
used to save the browsing/download history in Opera Mobile.
- Opera Mobile Cookies: This is a file used to
save the cookies in Opera Mobile.
- Custom Files: This is a list of user-defined
files. Tick this item only when you have defined the list in the "Custom Files"
screen.
- Recent Programs: This is the list of recently
used programs displayed in the Start Menu. You can clear this list without having
to soft reset.
- Internet Addresses: This is the list of recently
typed URLs in the address bar of Internet Explorer. The entries are stored in
"HKLM\Explorer\AddressHistory\".
- Boot Count: This is the soft reset counter. There
seems to be no detriment in having the number big though.
- Bad Theme Registry: Themes specially designed
for Windows Mobile 5.0 and above may install a new subkey into "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today".
Each of these themes install its own subkey which remains in the registry even
after changing themes, which makes the subkeys associated with unused themes useless.
- Bad Uninstall Registry: This is a list of subkeys
under "HKLM\Software\Apps" that are identified as associated with software which
are not installed on the system. Read each prompt very carefully before clicking
on the "Yes" button to remove them. If you are sure that the
reported software is still on the system, select "No". If you are unsure, you
should also select "No". Otherwise, wrongly detected software will
be removed from the "Remove Programs" list once this item is deleted, i.e. you
may not be able to uninstall the affected program from the "Remove Programs" screen
if you decide to do so in the future.
- Bad Uninstall Files: This is a list of folders
under "\Windows\AppMgr" that are identified as associated with software which
are not installed on the system. The same risks as "Bad Uninstall Registry" apply.
- Dead Shortcuts: This is the list of shortcuts
under "\Windows\Start Menu\" that are detected as "dead", i.e. target applications
could not be found. Read the prompts carefully if you don't want valid shortcuts
to go missing.
- Startup Programs: This is the list of shortcuts
under "\Windows\StartUp\" that are detected as "dead".
- Dead SIPs: This is the list of SIPs (soft input
panel, aka input methods) detected as "dead", i.e. not uninstalled cleanly. Some
SIPs may still remain in the SIP list even though they have been uninstalled,
so they are added to this list. Read each prompt very carefully to ensure that
the SIP has already been uninstalled and is no longer on the system. Once removed,
you will never be able to use the SIP again. It may even cause severe system
instability.

- Highlighted in red: High risk items. Read every

if you are unsure.

on device/user settings or third party applications. Tick only those that you are using.
